Charles Larson Jr. is a founding partner of LS2group, a strategic communications firm that provides public policy, public relations, and marketing services to clients locally, regionally, nationally, and globally.

Before establishing LS2group, Charles Larson Jr. served as the U.S. ambassador to Latvia under President George W. Bush. As ambassador, Larson advanced the national security interests and economic policies of the United States. Latvian President Valdis Zatlers awarded Ambassador Larson the Order of the Three Stars, which is Latvia’s highest award for his service to the country.

Chuck was elected to the Iowa Legislature in 1993 as state representative where he served as chairman of the House Economic Development Committee and chairman of the House Judiciary Committee. He prosecuted as an assistant county attorney in Jones County, Iowa as well. In 2003, Chuck was elected state senator until 2008. While serving in the Iowa legislature, Chuck chaired the Republican Party of Iowa for two terms and served on U.S. Senator John McCain’s presidential kitchen cabinet.

During his legislative career, Chuck was a major in the U.S. Army Reserves and served for a year in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Chuck was awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious service in combat and the Combat Action Badge. As a result of this experience, Chuck wrote Heroes Among Us, which profiles 29 heroes from the War on Terrorism. It was released by Penguin Publishing Group. He retired as a lieutenant colonel.

Chuck is a graduate of the University of Iowa, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics. He graduated with honors and distinction and is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honors society. He received his Juris Doctorate degree with distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law. Chuck is active in his church and is a member of the Aspen Institute’s Rodel Fellowship.
