Greater Des Moines boasts a robust community of startups, which presents businesses and consumers alike with innovative solutions to everyday challenges. Within this competitive environment, Denim stands out from the crowd. Since 2015, the fast-growing social media company’s “wicked smart” technology and innovative approach to social media advertising has been offering clients in insurance and finance a simpler, more effective means to engage target audiences.
In August 2017, LS2group worked with the Denim team to plan its inaugural Denim Summit, a one-day event to help put the insurtech startup on the map within the larger insurance and financial services industries. The summit was a significant opportunity to further build upon Denim’s momentum with stakeholders and reinforce its reputation as one to watch in the insurtech industry. LS2group planned and organized the Denim Summit from the ground up including strategic planning, logistics, communications, media outreach, and marketing.
To ensure a successful event, LS2group developed and refined a comprehensive event budget, provided guidance on sponsorships and sponsorship communication efforts, gave feedback on target audiences and attendee prospecting, and developed an execution timeline for all event components. Our team also coordinated all event logistics leading up to, during, and immediately following the event. This included the management of all vendors, furniture rentals, attendee gifts, photographers, and videographers. We took care of the set up and staffing plan for Denim along with an in-depth briefing book. In addition, our staff provided all day on-site support during the set-up and take-down phases.
Before the summit, LS2group developed messaging and media materials around the event. This included feedback on speaker remarks, sponsorship communication, guidance on social media posting, and media pitches and press releases to targeted mainstream and industry publications. Our team was able to secure a number of media hits, including a lengthy piece in the Des Moines Business Record.
LS2group’s creative team also provided recommendations and design concepts to give the Denim Summit a polished, cohesive look for attendees and stakeholders. Materials included a logo, pop-up banners, event signs, stage signage, programs, nametags, and branded attendee gifts.
The Denim Summit was incredibly successful. In one event, Denim was able to showcase its innovative platform and industry expertise to insurance and financial CMOs, state regulators, marketing managers, and IT personnel from Des Moines companies and beyond. The planning and execution of this successful event allowed the startup to host an energetic, informative, and unique event that further established Denim as a thought leader in the industry. The summit also provided the company with an opportunity to grow its customer base and build on its own success for years to come.
